LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
I have chosen to reproduce these pastels as high-quality, limited edition
giclée prints. Each one is unique and hand embellished on 100% rag,
fine art printing paper. The texture of the paper is hand chosen for each
series to enhance the "feel" of the piece, and the water-based
inks are long lasting and very vibrant. These pieces of fine art are created
in close collaboration between the printer and myself.
I like to write poems or prose to go with the images. If you choose to purchase
one of these images, you will receive a copy of the text on paper also suitable
for framing.

This
piece was painted after teaching a course at the Coupeville Arts Center
on Whidbey Island in Washington State. I was staying at the home of a local
artist and was so enjoying the quiet, the simple shapes and the sparkling
water in the distance. The scene I was painting was at the other end of
the property from where I sat, but I felt so connected to it. It felt as
if I was touching nature.

This
print was reproduced from a pastel painting done a few years after I moved
to New Mexico. The light changes rapidly at twilight, so I photographed
this scene one evening and created the pastel in my studio. I had the sense
that within the mysterious shadows stories were being told. The trees and
the mountains were speaking to one another.
